Meet the team
The Directors, Bekkie Freitas and Tony Freitas, started BTF Law after heading up successful criminal defence departments in large local firms, before opening a firm that specialises only in criminal defence. We have a team of excellent solicitor advocates, solicitors, paralegals and Crown Court clerks, and our main goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for each of our clients.

Bekkie Freitas
Director, Higher Court Advocate & Solicitor
Bekkie represents clients at the police station, Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts. She is instructed in a range of criminal matters, with a particular focus on drug conspiracies and murders and also has an interest in cases involving mental capacity at time of offending. Bekkie read law at the University of Lincoln and studied her LPC at De Montfort University and her Higher Rights of Audience at Nottingham Trent University.

Tony Freitas
Director & Solicitor
Tony has over 20 years experience representing clients in Lincolnshire and surrounding counties. He specialises in military cases, regularly attending Catterick Court Martial Centre and various military bases for police interviews throughout the UK. Tony is widely recognised as an expert in football related criminal cases, particularly featuring Football Banning Orders. Tony has a high success rate of early termination of these orders. Tony read law at the University of Lincoln and studied his BVC at Inns of Court School of Law in London.

Jacob Bacon
Solicitor
Jacob is a key member of the team at BTF Law. He represents people at the police station in relation to any offence and regularly attends the Magistrates Court with his clients. He specialises in exceptional hardship and motoring cases with a high success rate in both. Jacob read law at the University of Lincoln and studied for his LPC at the University of Law in Norwich.

Andrew Osborne
Solicitor
Andrew has over 30 years experience of working in criminal defence, covering all aspects from basic to complex matters. He is highly skilled at case preparation and trial advocacy. He frequently represents young people before the Youth Court, obtaining the best results possible. Andrew read law at the London School of Economics and Political Science and studied his Solicitors Finals at the College of Law Lancaster Gate in London.

Iona represents clients at the police station and the Magistrates Court. Iona prides herself in her client care and thorough preparation of cases. Iona read law at the University of Manchester and studied for her LPC at the University of Sheffield.

Lily is a highly sought after accredited police station representative with over 21 years of experience working in criminal defence. She has assisted in Crown Court matters for 19 years and that experience allows her to identify vital issues in a case from the outset. Lily has had great results at the Crown Court through her skilled and confident case preparation and the partnership she has with instructed Counsel.
